ALL  GROWN  UP WITH DAISY BUCHANAN | THURSDAY, 18 JUNE

Margate legend Daisy Buchanan discusses her hilarious and heartfelt new novel All Grown Up, a fun family saga and 21st century twist on Little Women.

7:00pm-9:00pm Fort Road Bar

A story of unconditional love, life lessons and f***ed up families, Daisy Buchanan's latest novel All Grown Up opens on Christmas Eve as Marmee - AKA Louisa - is just settling down for a peaceful solo celebration when she hears a knock at the door. It's her unhappily married (and pregnant) daughter Meg, followed by sisters Jo and Amy, who are also in chaos mode. As much Louisa adores her girls, she knows that if she's ever going to get her (sex) life back and the dishwasher emptied, she'll have to deliver some home truths. In this fresh and relatable reimagining of Louisa May Alcott's classic novel, it turns out that these larger-than-life Little Women – even their mum – still have a lot to learn about being adults.

Daisy Buchanan is an award-winning journalist, author and broadcaster whose books include the novels Insatiable, Careering, Limelight and Pity Party, and the non-fiction titles How to Be a Grown Up, The Sisterhood and Read Yourself Happy. A longtime Margate resident and literary powerhouse, Daisy also hosts the chart-topping podcast You’re Booked. She'll be chatting all-things All Grown Up with Stevie Martin, an also-Margate-based comedian, writer and actor currently touring the UK with her stand-up show Clout.
