ALL THE RAGE WITH JOSH COHEN | THURSDAY, 13 NOVEMBER
Author and psychoanalyst Josh Cohen discusses his acclaimed latest book All the Rage, a fascinating anatomy of anger, why we feel it and how we can better handle it
7:00pm-9:00pm Fort Road Bar
Josh Cohen's All the Rage maps the many forms that anger can take; from the questioning energy of protest to cynical cultural and political rifts, inherited or learned personal grievances and, of course, the blind rage of an 'online furore'. Drawing from neuropsychology, philosophy, patient case studies and recent political events, the book lays a path through the wildlands of this primary and pivotal human feeling, asking where it comes from, what we can do with it, and whether it can ever be channelled in a positive way.
An author, academic and psychoanalyst, Josh Cohen's work explores major contemporary issues like privacy, work, meritocracy and anger through the lenses of psychoanalysis, culture and personal experience. His books include Not Working: Why We Have to Stop, How to Read Freud, The Private Life: Why We Remain in the Dark and How to Live. What to Do. He'll be discussing all-things All the Rage in conversation with Margate-based writer and host with the absolute most, Ryan J. Smith.
Tickets are free and available via Eventbrite.
