In her latest book Feeding the Monster, renowned film expert and writer Anna Bogutskaya digs into the uncanny allure of the horror genre, explaining and exploring what we get out of Get Out, Hereditary and The Babadook, and the power of scary movies to nourish, console and confront.

An acclaimed critic, journalist, film programmer and creative producer, Anna is also the author of 2023's Unlikeable Female Characters and co-founder of the horror film collective The Final Girls, a screening series turned podcast. She'll be chatting about Feeding the Monster in conversation with local writer and film-lover Ryan J. Smith.
