THE SPORTSMAN AT HOME WITH STEPHEN HARRIS | THURSDAY, 4 DECEMBER
Chef Stephen Harris discusses his new cookbook The Sportsman at Home, a spread of simply sumptuous recipes to recreate in your own kitchen
7:00pm-9:00pm Fort Road Bar
In his resplendent new book The Sportsman at Home, Stephen Harris brings us into his Whitstable kitchen for a showcase of simple, seasonal, flavourful home cooking at its very best. Alongside pared-back recipes for stalwart dishes like tomato soup, cottage pie and tart tatin, plus a chapter devoted entirely to cream, the book also features personal essays and beautiful photography of the Kent landscape that has long served as Harris' inspiration.
In his 25 years as chef-patron at The Sportsman in Whitstable, Stephen Harris has transformed what was once an abandoned pub into a Michelin-starred, world-renowned restaurant that's both an informal local and a cult classic adored by diners, critics and chefs alike.
Stephen will be discussing The Sportsman at Home, and his life in the kitchen, in conversation with Margate-based cook, fermentation expert and award-winning writer Thom Eagle. There'll also be a chance to try an assortment of nibbles inspired by the book!
Tickets are free and available via Eventbrite.
